Offerings in Surya Dev Puja are made to honor the Sun as the giver of light, life-force, health, confidence, and success. Devotees usually begin by offering Arghya—clean water (often mixed with roli/kumkum, red flowers, and sometimes a few drops of Gangajal) poured from a copper vessel while facing the rising Sun.
